Italian automotive icons Alfa Romeo and Maserati have joined forces to establish a unique collaborative hub known as BottegaFuoriserie. This initiative aims to encompass the full spectrum of car artistry, from meticulously restoring classic vehicles to pioneering cutting-edge performance technologies and crafting exclusive “few-off” models – limited edition cars designed for individual clients.
The heart of BottegaFuoriserie rests on four pillars: Bottega, Fuoriserie, Corse, and La Storia. Each pillar represents a distinct department dedicated to pushing the boundaries of automotive excellence within these legendary brands.
Bottega will spearhead the creation of ultra-exclusive vehicles that showcase the pinnacle of Alfa Romeo and Maserati’s engineering prowess and design vision. These bespoke creations will draw inspiration from iconic models like the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale and the Maserati MCXtrema, pushing the limits of automotive craftsmanship.
Fuoriserie, on the other hand, will cater to discerning owners seeking personalized luxury. This service provides a dedicated team of designers who work closely with customers to tailor any vehicle—from mass-produced models to rare classics—reflecting their unique taste and vision while staying true to the original design language. Remarkably, this bespoke customization service will be accessible at all authorized dealerships worldwide.
Corse serves as the crucible for performance innovation. By drawing upon the rigorous demands of motorsports, Corse aims to translate cutting-edge engineering solutions—from mechanical enhancements to aerodynamic refinements—directly into enhanced road-going vehicles.
Finally, La Storia enshrines the rich heritage of both brands. This pillar encompasses several initiatives: meticulously restoring and certifying classic models through Officine Classiche, preserving original components, and even crafting “modern interpretations” of iconic classics that seamlessly blend historical authenticity with contemporary technology.
Complementing these efforts are dedicated Experience Centers—showrooms serving as immersive portals into the marques’ histories. Key locations include the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, envisioned as a space where past, present, and future converge to inspire innovation, and the Umberto Panini Maserati Collection in Modena, celebrating the brand’s storied legacy through carefully curated displays.
BottegaFuoriserie is overseen by Cristiano Fiorio, a seasoned automotive executive with deep roots within the Stellantis Group (the parent company of both Alfa Romeo and Maserati) His most recent role saw him leading Alfa Romeo’s Formula 1 team from 2021 to earlier this year. This experience positions him ideally to guide BottegaFuoriserie as it embarks on its ambitious mission:
“This is somewhere where past, present, and future converge – where we celebrate our heritage while daring to imagine what’s next,” said Fiorio. “With a team of passionate, talented individuals, we will craft vehicles that are not only technically exceptional but emotionally unforgettable… Our mission is clear: to honour the legacy of Alfa Romeo and Maserati, and to write the next chapter in their history with boldness, beauty, and authenticity.”
Through this ambitious initiative, Alfa Romeo and Maserati aim to solidify their reputations as purveyors of Italian automotive artistry while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in both classic car preservation and modern performance creation.
