Stellantis, the automotive conglomerate, has showcased a striking one-off hatchback concept at the Brussels Motor Show, developed in collaboration with DS Penske Formula E driver Taylor Barnard. The vehicle, dubbed the Taylor made N°4, blends motorsport aesthetics with gaming-inspired design cues, highlighting the brand’s commitment to pushing creative boundaries.
A Racer’s Vision Takes Shape
The concept car is a direct extension of the DS Performance Line Limited Edition collection. Barnard’s influence is evident throughout the vehicle’s exterior, which features a bold design language. The front end boasts pixelated headlights and distinctive fang-like LED daytime running lights, complemented by a unique grille displaying the “N°4” lettering and an illuminated DS logo.
Beyond the aggressive front fascia, the vehicle sports extended fenders, a lowered ride height, minimalist mirrors, and motorsport-inspired door handles. The rear features pixelated taillights, vertical lighting elements, and a massive diffuser with an integrated brake light displaying Barnard’s lucky number, 77, which also appears on the hood.
Unique Materials and Personal Touches
The N°4 concept moves away from traditional carbon fiber, opting for Pure Titanium, Liquid Titanium, and Craft Titanium finishes. A Black Titanium roof and split rear spoiler add further visual aggression, while Light Gold accents and splashes of purple—Barnard’s favorite color—inject a unique personal touch into the design.
Performance Options
DS Automobiles has not revealed extensive technical details but confirmed the road-going N°4 will be available with hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric powertrains. The all-electric variant, known as the N°4 E-Tense, delivers 210 hp (157 kW / 213 PS) with a WLTP range of 280 miles (450 km).
“The N°4 was already my favorite model in the range, so when the brand’s design department presented me with this project, I was both enamored and honored,” Barnard stated. “Coming up with a sports car that could be mine every day was an exciting experience.”
The Taylor made N°4 demonstrates Stellantis’ willingness to experiment with unconventional design partnerships, merging professional racing insight with automotive creativity. This collaboration not only showcases the brand’s design capabilities but also bridges the gap between motorsport and everyday driving, offering a glimpse into the future of high-performance hatchbacks.
