MG Motor Australia is incentivizing repeat customers with a new discount program on its most affordable vehicles, the MG 3 Vibe light hatch and the ZS Vibe small SUV. The offer, available only to existing MG owners and their immediate families, provides an additional $1,000 off already discounted prices.
Discount Details and Eligibility
The promotion reduces the MG 3 Vibe’s drive-away price to $19,990 and the ZS Vibe 1.5L to $21,990. However, eligibility is restricted: buyers must either currently own or have previously owned an MG vehicle, or be an immediate family member (parents, spouses, or children) of an owner. Proof of ownership or familial relationship may be required.
This limited-time offer is valid until March 31, 2026, and excludes fleet, government, rental, and demonstrator vehicle sales. The discount can be applied to a maximum of two vehicles per eligible customer.
Context: Competitive Pricing and Segment Trends
The move comes as MG actively promotes sales through various other deals, including plate clearances and seasonal promotions. The ZS Vibe 1.5L, launched earlier this year, marked a new entry point in the ZS lineup, undercutting the previous generation by $1,000.
This aggressive pricing is significant because the Australian automotive market is increasingly competitive. While the MG 3 remains a top seller in the light-car segment, its sales dipped by 33.5% last year. The ZS lost its title as Australia’s best-selling small SUV to the Chery Tiggo 4 and Hyundai Kona, with sales down 11.6% year-on-year.
Key Vehicle Specs
Both the MG 3 Vibe and the ZS Vibe 1.5L are equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 81kW of power and 142Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Despite being entry-level trims, they now include a full suite of active safety and driver-assist technologies that were not available in older models.
By focusing on loyalty rewards, MG reinforces its commitment to retaining customers while boosting sales in a highly competitive market.
The company expects both models to remain competitive in their respective segments, though market pressures from rival brands like Chery and Hyundai require continuous adjustments to pricing and incentives.
