Dreame Nebula Next 01X: A Leap into Autonomous Performance

2

Dreame has unveiled the Nebula Next 01X at the 2026 Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE), signaling a bold entry into the automotive market. This SUV – or, more accurately, a high-performance liftback – is the first vehicle under Dreame’s ambitious Starry Sky Plan, designed to integrate Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities with cutting-edge electric vehicle technology. The focus is not just on transport; it’s about redefining the in-car experience.

Core Technology: 2,000 TOPS and Solid-State Power

The Nebula Next 01X’s brain is a 2nm process chipset capable of 2,000 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) of single-core computing power. This allows for proactive, non-intrusive intelligent driving, meaning the car anticipates and reacts to road conditions before the driver does.

Equally important is the world’s first mass-producible 60Ah solid-state battery. Current energy density is at 450 Wh/kg, with aggressive plans to reach 800 Wh/kg in future versions. This isn’t just about range; solid-state batteries are inherently safer, more stable, and potentially lighter than traditional lithium-ion cells.

Chassis and Performance: Beyond Suspension

The vehicle’s Starry Sky Tianxun intelligent chassis incorporates an EMAD electromagnetic active suspension system. This drastically improves responsiveness (10x faster) while cutting energy consumption in half. The suspension works with a 14-degree-of-freedom control system, achieving full-domain synchronisation in just 1 millisecond.

Test results demonstrate a 25% increase in cornering stability and a 30% improvement in wet-surface grip compared to air suspension. Top-end Ultra-Luxury variants can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.8 seconds via a “Super Track” mode, while the EREV variant delivers a 550 km CLTC pure electric range.

Design and Market Strategy

Despite being marketed as an SUV, the Nebula Next 01X’s proportions align more closely with a high-riding fastback, resembling the Polestar 2 in its silhouette. This design choice prioritises aerodynamic efficiency to maximise the 550 km range target while still providing ample interior space. The vehicle is built around Dreame’s “Super Hub” ecosystem, meaning the interior is designed as a seamless extension of the user’s digital life.

Dreame’s strategy bypasses traditional automotive manufacturing hurdles through vertical integration (self-developed motors, VLA+ algorithms) and a global contract manufacturing model. This will enable mass production by 2027, leveraging Dreame’s existing 6,500 retail outlets and an expansion to 300 dedicated direct-sales centres over the next three years.

Dreame isn’t just building a car; it’s building a mobile extension of its existing smart-home ecosystem. This is a critical move for Dreame as it seeks to diversify beyond its core robotics and appliance business.

The Nebula Next 01X represents a significant leap in autonomous performance, solid-state battery technology, and a disruptive market entry strategy. It challenges conventional automotive design and production norms, positioning Dreame as a formidable competitor in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle landscape.
