8

Volvo Car UK has launched the EX30 Cargo, a fully electric van derived from its compact EX30 SUV. This model is specifically designed for businesses and fleet customers looking for a practical yet premium commercial vehicle.

Key Features and Specifications

The EX30 Cargo offers a load capacity of 1,000 liters and a payload of 390kg. The rear seats have been removed, replaced with a flat floor and access panel for easy loading. A bulkhead separates the cabin from the cargo area, ensuring safety and security. The van is available in two trims: the standard EX30 Cargo and the Cross Country Cargo, which features increased ground clearance for improved versatility.

Performance and Range

Buyers can choose from four powertrains, ranging from 148bhp to 423bhp. The high-performance variant can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.6 seconds, making it one of the fastest vans on the market. All-wheel drive is an option, and the EX30 Cargo provides up to 300 miles of range on a single charge. Charging from 10% to 80% takes less than 30 minutes.

Pricing and Availability

The EX30 Cargo is priced starting at £36,010 and is available through Volvo Car UK’s fleet sales channels.

Why This Matters

The EX30 Cargo fills a gap in Volvo’s lineup, targeting businesses that want a high-quality, safe, and technologically advanced van. The automotive industry is rapidly shifting towards electric vehicles, and this launch demonstrates Volvo’s commitment to offering sustainable commercial solutions. The van’s blend of performance, range, and payload capacity makes it a strong competitor in the growing electric van market.

“While we are best known for our passenger vehicles, we recognise that business owners and fleets also want the quality, safety and technology that Volvo is renowned for in a compact commercial vehicle too, which is why we created the extremely practical EX30 Cargo,” said Jack Munford, Head of Fleet at Volvo Car UK.

The introduction of the EX30 Cargo solidifies Volvo’s position as a provider of both premium passenger and commercial electric vehicles.
