Delivery Driver Gets Smacked By Suspect Car, Hands Off Food Anyway

Picture this. You’re just sitting there. Car parked. Police chasing some guy. Suddenly—bam.

This isn’t a movie script. It’s Houston, Texas. A DoorDash driver actually experienced this, and the thing is… she just kept working. Respect.

Security cameras caught the whole thing days ago.

An orange DoorDash car pulls up. Normal delivery. Then a silver sedan screams past. It clips the back of her hatchback.

The door flies open.

She gets flung right onto the hood of that fleeing sedan. Lucky for her? She doesn’t hit her head. Not even a dent in the brainpan.

The food though.

It hits the pavement hard.

She’s hurt. You can tell. She limps. But does she call for help? Does she run for cover? No.

She grabs the food and drops it at the door.

Meanwhile the suspect—let’s call him a guy in a silver car—abandons the vehicle. He runs through someone’s garden. He even tries to take a Ford Explorer with him. Two cops start chasing him on foot.

Running never works. Does it?

ABC13 Eyewitness News says the suspect is Torrance Whitaker. He jumped several fences. Fences don’t stop cops. Or dogs.

K-9 units found him. He got arrested.

So the suspect is in handcuffs. The driver delivered the meal. The homeowner probably has mixed feelings.
